In 2006 I started Growing Together so that I could offer expectant and new parents professional, informative classes to help them relax and enjoy the different stages of pregnancy, birth and parenthood.
Having worked as a hospital and community midwife, I developed a passion for antenatal education as I believe that a good understanding of the birth journey and the choices can help mothers to feel more informed and in control. I offer a range of classes including groups at KMI Ultrasound Clinic in Kings Hill and The Meads Community Centre in Sittingbourne as well as private consultations.
I also run baby massage and Mummy and Me courses at The Meads Community Centre in Sittingbourne and I am currently training to be a lactation consultant and I hope to qualify in 2017.
I love meeting people from all walks of life and enjoy the challenge of making my classes relevant, interesting and useful to all parents.
I am married to Dan and our daughter, Susie, was born at home in a birthing pool in 2011.
Hi I’m Michelle Howgill and I have been a part of the Growing Together team since 2011 where I facilitate baby massage and Mummy and Me courses. I love running these classes as they enable parents to come together, meet new people, build friendships and discuss topical issues whilst learning new skills.
Earlier in my career I worked as a nursery nurse in local day nurseries before moving on to work as a community health visitor assistant at Sevenoaks and Edenbridge Hospital. This gave me the opportunity to develop new skills working with families and to undertake my baby massage instructor training. My role with the health visitor team was very varied and I enjoyed supporting parents at this exciting and daunting time of their lives.
I love seeing babies reacting so positively to their parent's massage and parents new ideas about how to tune in their baby.
I am married to Tony and we have two children.
I first came across Growing Together in 2015. I had been desperately searching for antenatal classes that offered something a little more relaxed than the norm, and I was struggling to convince my partner to attend a classroom full of pregnant women! We loved our classes so much with Nicki and there began my journey with Growing Together.
I am fortunate enough to be helping Growing Together with some admin tasks and social media promotion - helping to engage families with everything that Growing Together can offer them in those precious early days. It’s lovely to be able to not only connect with new families but also to learn lots myself along the way!
After a long journey our little girl Daisy, was born in November 2015 via C-section due to being breech. She is our little miracle.
